Children’s Music
Music is a language that touches us beyond the power of mere words! That is why involving children in musical activities from the earliest age is so important! Besides having fun and fellowship with friends, choir teaches musical skills and develops proper techniques for ringing and singing. Choir is also an opportunity to enhance the musical learning from school, or to fill the void of a non-existent program. Choristers learn social skills such as poise and confidence as they prepare anthems to present during worship services. By attending rehearsal each week, they learn responsibility, commitment, self-discipline, and teamwork. Involving children in a church music program will not only enrich their lives forever, it will help prepare them to become the musicians and church leaders of the future, or at the very least, enthusiastic congregational singers! Learning the history of our cherished hymns will instill in them our beloved Christian musical heritage, which will encourage them to become responsible, caring, productive citizens.

JKPC Choristers (Grades 1-5)
This program meets for rehearsal on Wednesdays, 6:30 to 7:30 pm. In this ministry, children learn music reading skills through singing games and playing instruments. They prepare anthems for worship services and sing approximately once per month, including one Sunday in Advent, Palm Sunday, and Mother’s Day. The Choristers participate in mission singing at a local nursing/retirement home, and often participate in the annual Choristers Guild Choir Festival. Awards and special recognitions are presented at the annual Music Appreciation Night to end the season in late May. Please contact the Director, Mary Linda Williams at JKPC if you would like to sign up your child.

-
To present musical concepts compatible with age appropriate development
-
